Jeremy Clarkson closes restaurant on Diddly Squat Farm to the delight of his neighbours

Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to close a controversial  restaurant on his Diddly Squat Farm in West Oxfordshire.

The Local Planning Authority considered that a restaurant on the site was “not in keeping” with the rural area and issued an enforcement notice

Mr Clarkson has now written to the Council saying “I no longer wish to open a restaurant” adding he had been “thwarted by the enforcement notice”,

Michael Benson, of Chaddington, said “It is a win for the community. I would like the whole thing shut down. We are just a small village and Diddly Squat Farm is in the wrong place.”

“We don’t need a theme park in an area of natural beauty.”

Neighbour Lucy Walker said “We have been plagued with traffic since he arrived. He caused massive upset with these restaurant plans. It’s just the arrogance of what he thinks he can get away with.”

“Clarkson’s Farm” has been the subject of a series on Amazon Prime Video and the farm shop has proved popular with Clarkson fans
